(24 January 2019) LOCATION:Royal Palm\, 6 Eu Tong Sen Street\, #04-85\, The Central (Clarke Quay)\, Si ngapore 059817 DESCRIPTION:About the Seminar:The problem of ethics in international arbitration has as sumed increasing importance in the past decade. It is particularly challeng ing to regulate the conduct of party representatives who come from differen t regulatory regimes and traditions. There are two broad areas of controvers y. First, the content of any such guidelines. Secondly, the status or enfor ceability of any guidelines. SIArb has already taken a position on the cont ent with the publication of its Guidelines on Party-Representative Ethics o n 26 April 2018. No doubt, the content will be monitored and revised period ically with the benefit of feedback. Finding a practical solution to the se cond controversy is harder. What status can be conferred on any guidelines? How can we make these effective rather than a pious declaration?SIArb has assembled a panel of leading thinkers in international arbitration to catal yse the search for a concrete solution. This brainstorming session will bene fit from the collective wisdom of all who work in this field, be they pract itioners, arbitrators, regulators or academics. SIArb looks forward to your attendance and participation. Join us for free flow of wines, beers, soft drinks and food after the seminar!
