About this Seminar:-

At this evening seminar, Samuel will speak on the recent amendments made to the SIAC Rules with the publication of the 5th Edition of the SIAC Rules on 1 April 2013. In particular, Samuel will be discussing the changes in the organizational structure of SIAC brought about by the establishment of the SIAC Court of Arbitration and the improvements made to the rules in relation to commencement of arbitrations, jurisdictional challenges, challenges to appointment of arbitrators and SIAC’s publication of redacted arbitral awards.

About the Speaker:

As Counsel at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), Samuel assists the Registrar of SIAC in the administration of over 150 active arbitrations. Samuel’s caseload, as a member of the case management team at SIAC, includes arbitrations administered under the SIAC Rules, UNCITRAL Rules, ICC Rules and the Singapore Bunker Claims Procedure, as well as a number of Emergency Arbitrator proceedings conducted under the SIAC Rules. Samuel graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) (Hons) from the University of Malaya, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the Columbia University School of Law as a Fulbright and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. At Columbia, Samuel was also a W. Bayard Cutting Jr. Fellow and recipient of the CIMB Regional Scholarship and Parker School Certificate in Foreign and Comparative Law. Samuel is admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
