About the Speakers:
Ms. Amanda Lees specialises in cross border dispute resolution in Asia. Amanda has acted in complex litigation, international arbitration and related court applications (stay, interim measures, anti-suit and anti-arbitration applications), mediations and expert determinations in Asia, Europe and Australia. Over the last 17 years Amanda has acted in a broad range of commercial disputes across different industries in multiple jurisdictions, including large energy and mining disputes, commodities disputes, telecommunications and technology disputes, banking and insurance disputes and manufacturing disputes. Amanda is also experienced in bilateral investment treaty arbitration and is currently acting for the Republic of Indonesia in a BIT arbitration under the UNCITRAL Rules administered by the PCA. Amanda sits regularly as an arbitrator for SIAC, ICC and LCIA arbitrations and is listed on the SIAC Panel. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb) and Director of the Singapore branch of CIArb. Amanda is a regular speaker and lecturer on arbitration internationally. Amanda is the author of multiple LexisNexis practice notes for international commercial arbitration in Hong Kong and Singapore as well as other publications.

Ms. Christine Artero is a full-time arbitrator, Resident at The Arbitration Chambers (Singapore) and Door Tenant of Fountain Court Chambers (London and Singapore). She is dual-qualified lawyer having been admitted to the Paris Bar and as a solicitor in England and Wales. Ms Artero has extensive experience in international arbitration, and a substantial practice in Asia and in Europe. Prior to launching her career as independent arbitrator, she worked at Shearman & Sterling in London and thereafter served as counsel at the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). In 2014, Christine moved to Singapore where she joined The Arbitration Chambers, and was appointed Tribunal Secretary to over 80 arbitral tribunals under all major arbitral institutions. Ms Artero is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toulouse 1 (France), teaching international arbitration.

About the Chairperson:
Mr. Yu-Jin Tay is a partner in Mayer Brown’s global International Arbitration practice based in Singapore. He specialises in general commercial disputes as well as disputes arising from M&A/joint venture, energy and natural resources, construction and infrastructure and technology, with almost 20 years of experience of arbitrations under the rules of most leading arbitral institutions and in the world's major seats. In addition to counsel work, Yu-Jin sits regularly as presiding, sole and co-arbitrator. He is a Fellow and Vice-President of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. Since 2001, he has practised investment treaty arbitration and in 2013 was designated to ICSID's Panels of Arbitrators and Conciliators. Yu-Jin was one among few Asian lawyers featured in Global Arbitration Review's last global 45 under 45 ranking and he has been listed annually as leading individual in legal directories including GAR's International Who's Who (since 2010), Chambers Asia-Pacific and Legal 500 (since 2008). He has been ranked among the top partners in Arbitration: Future Leaders for the past two consecutive years. Before Mayer Brown, Yu-Jin practised arbitration in Paris, London and Washington DC and headed the Asia arbitration practices of two other major international law firms. |
