About this Debate:
International arbitration is often the dispute resolution mechanism of choice for resolving cross-border disputes. Where international parties are involved, arbitrators can canvass a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities. However, these human arbitrators are not immune to the biases and nuances inherent in human decision-making, which are often influenced by legal, cultural, and linguistic factors. Can artificial intelligence, armed with its impartial algorithms and data-driven objectivity, truly level the playing field and eliminate cultural biases?
Our panel of speakers will engage in a spirited discussion, exploring the promises and challenges of integrating AI into the decision-making process in arbitration. They will dissect the complexities of cultural biases, examine the capabilities of AI systems in understanding diverse perspectives, and scrutinise the ethical implications of entrusting critical decisions to machines.
This event has been sponsored by Jus Mundi and WongPartnership.
