About the Speakers:
Professor Lawrence Boo is the author of “Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore Volume 1(2) - Arbitration” (Lexis-Nexis 2017 Re-issue) and the regular contributor to the “Annual Review of Singapore” chapter on “Arbitration” since 2001. His papers have also been published in various international journals including the Journal of International Arbitration, Asian International Arbitration Journal, Asia Business Law Review, Chinese Yearbook of Private International and Comparative Law (Peking University Press), Dispute Resolution Journal (London) and the Asian Business Lawyer (Korea University). He is on the editorial board of the Oxford International Arbitration Series, (Oxford University Press). He has been teaching international commercial arbitration at NUS Law since 1993 and also at Bond University School of Law.

Ms Christine Artero is a full-time arbitrator, Resident at The Arbitration Chambers (Singapore) and Door Tenant of Fountain Court Chambers (London and Singapore). She is a dual-qualified lawyer, admitted to the Paris Bar and as a solicitor in England and Wales. Ms Artero has extensive experience in international arbitration, and a substantial practice in Asia and in Europe. Prior to launching her career as independent arbitrator, she worked at Shearman & Sterling in London and thereafter served as counsel at the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). In 2014, Christine moved to Singapore where she joined The Arbitration Chambers and was appointed Tribunal Secretary to over 80 arbitral tribunals under all major arbitral institutions. Ms Artero is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toulouse 1 (France), teaching international arbitration.

About the Chairperson:
Mr. Andrew Pullen is an experienced dispute resolution lawyer and advocate. He specialises in international arbitration, with experience of both commercial and investment treaty arbitration. He is a member of the Bar of England & Wales and is a registered foreign lawyer with the Singapore International Commercial Court. Prior to joining Fountain Court Chambers, Andrew practised for 15 years as a solicitor. Andrew has extensive experience in both Asia and Europe, having been based in Singapore (since 2011) and previously in London. Andrew has acted for clients in Asia, Europe and South America across a variety of business sectors, including finance, energy, automotive, defence, utilities, steel, manufacturing, brewing and media. He has acted in cases determined under common law and civl law systems and held under a wide variety of arbitral rules (ICC, LCIA, SIAC, SCMA, SCC, JCAA, AAA, Swiss Rules, UNCITRAL, and ICSID), in London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Stockholm, The Hague, Tokyo, Washington D.C. and Zurich. |
